Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce effects of streamed noise, and improve the C/N of incoming communication, in an HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) system. SOLUTION: The HFC system includes a plurality of optical fiber cables 11 connected to a head end 10, an optical node device 13 connected to each of the optical fiber cables 11, and a coaxial cable 14 for connecting each optical node device 13 and a plurality of subscribers, wherein the head end controls incoming communication so as not to collide with each other. The optical node device 13 has a demodulating means 107 and a control means 108. The demodulating means 107 demodulates an input incoming electric signal and outputs a demodulated signal. The control means 108 normally holds an output of an E/O converter 102 in an off-state, but turns on the output of the E/O converter 102 when receiving the demodulated signal from the demodulating means 107.
