Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an error caused by a plurality of cards mixed in a communication range of a non-contact IC reader/writer by avoiding the conveying of a card on a card conveying path into the communication range of the IC reader/writer when the card is held over by a user. SOLUTION: The IC reader/writer is provided so as to be capable of communicating with a card C1 in a first communication section 12 and a card C2 in a second communication section 13 and detects the presence or absence of the card C2 in the second communication section 13 when the card C1 on the card conveying path P is in a waiting unit 14 other than the first communication section 12.
