IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that forms a favorable transfer image, and prevents, as much as possible, the number of printed sheets per unit time from being extremely reduced, even when an intermediate transfer body having an uneven surface is used in the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a plurality of print modes and uses any of them for printing. In a first print mode, at least, an adjusting operation is performed to adjust toner image formation start timing so that a toner image may be formed except in a toner image non-formation area on the intermediate transfer body.
