BELT TYPE FIXING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type fixing device that consecutively performs printing at high speed and reduces heat and pressure energy in a recording medium-sandwiching portion in which fixing is carried out. SOLUTION: A heat conductive belt 57, which is heated by a heat roller 56 and transmits the heat to a transfer sandwiching portion A, electrostatically attracts paper 60 conveyed with an unfixed toner image held on its surface after forming on the surface an electrode pattern for inducing positive and negative charges by the application of voltage. The belt 57 then conveys the paper 60 as far as the transfer sandwiching portion A while preheating the paper 60, and fixes the unfixed toner image to the paper 60 at high speed in cooperation with the fixing roller 58 and a pressure roller 54.
