Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst having an excellent effect of suppressing a hot spot, as the catalyst for producing methacrylic acid, which is used for producing methacrylic acid by subjecting methacrolein to vapor-phase catalytic oxidation using molecular oxygen. SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing methacrylic acid is used for producing methacrylic acid by subjecting methacrolein to vapor-phase catalytic oxidation using molecular oxygen and contains at least molybdenum and phosphorus, wherein a fibrous material having thermal conductivity of ≥300 W/(m×K) is contained.
