IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for printing an original having the same page configuration as the original document by restoring the original from an electronic file composed of original images other than white pages of the original for correcting the original document. SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus includes an image reading means that can read original images of both sides of sheets of an original constituting the original document to generate an electronic file obtained by computerizing the read original images in a page unit. The apparatus has: a means for determining whether pages of the read original images area are white paper; a means for attaching attribute information including an arrangement order of originals of the original document, a front side or a back side of a sheet and an arrangement order of pages to pages when the pages are not white paper; a means for eliminating pages when the pages are white pages; and a means for generating an electronic file obtained by integrating respective pages and eliminating white paper pages.
