Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus of a hand scanner which controls on/off of the hand scanner steadily and an information processing apparatus. SOLUTION: A vertical type scanner 2 of the POS system 100 equipped with a hand scanner 24, includes: a holding unit 39 which is coupled to a fixing component 35 attached to a side surface of the vertical type scanner 2, formed in U-shape at an opening portion 40, and hooks the hand scanner 24 thereon; a moving mechanism 32 to move the holding unit 39 by the weight of the hand scanner 24; a detecting means 33 to detect a movement of the holding unit 39; and a scanner controller 72 to control on/off of the hand scanner 24 according to a movement of the holding unit 39 detected by the detecting means 33.
