METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BIT DETECTION AND SYNCHRONIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and system for bit detection and synchronization. SOLUTION: A bit synchronization method is proposed. The method includes the steps of: buffering a plurality of samples from a signal stream; scanning whether or not there are transitions in the buffered samples; and updating zero-crossing histogram buffers generated when the transitions are detected. Further, the method includes the steps of: simultaneously detecting at least two peaks from the updated zero-crossing histogram buffers; determining at least two boundaries from the detected peak; integrating the buffered samples in the boundaries; and finally generating an output signal comprising a synchronized bit stream from the integrated samples.
