SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium has a magnetic layer including ferromagnetic particles and binder on a non-magnetic substrate. The binder comprises a polyurethane resin made from diol and diisocyanate shown as a general formula (I). The polyurethane resin are made from diol and diisocyanate shown in the general formula (I).
