IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently forming an image. SOLUTION: A control section calculates a separation time required when a first photoreceptor and a transfer belt are separated from each other (S13). The control section calculates a monochrome image forming time (S14), and then calculates the proportion of the separation time to the monochrome image forming time to determine whether or not the calculated proportion is larger than a predetermined threshold (S15). The control section performs control so as to perform the image formation of a monochrome image as a state where the first photoreceptor and the transfer belt are contacted with each other (S16), when it is determined that the proportion of the separation time to the monochrome image forming time is smaller than the predetermined threshold (YES in S15), and performs control so as to perform the image formation of a monochrome image as a state where the first photoreceptor and the transfer belt are separated from each other (S17), when it is determined that the proportion of the separation time to the monochrome image forming time is larger than the predetermined threshold (NO in S15).
