Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent detection mistake such as lack of operation because of noise during hand detection of a hand detecting and drying device. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 4 as a signal adjusting means compares a signal format which is output from an infrared LED 1 through a signal transmitting circuit 3 with a signal format which is input from a light-receiving IC 2 through a detection circuit 5, thereby enabling the microcomputer 4 to change the format of signals which are output from the infrared LED 1 through the signal transmitting circuit 3 when determining that the signal formats are not identical.
