Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection system for an engine, promoting vaporization of fuel to be injected and reducing HC emissions during cold start of an engine, without remarkably enlarging an installation. SOLUTION: This fuel injection system for the engine includes: an intake port injector 40 provided for each intake port 5 of a multi-cylinder engine; a collecting portion injector 20 provided in a surge tank 12 upstream of each intake port 5; and a heat retaining means keeping the collecting portion injector warm. The heat retaining means has a heat storage material 22 arranged around the collecting portion injector 20, and a cooling water passage 28 leading engine cooling water to the heat storage material 22.
