METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PADDING TREATMENT OF FIBROUS MATERIALS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for padding treatment, the method and device being capable of producing evenly-treated fibrous materials and reducing loss of the treatment agent when immersing fibrous materials in a treatment fluid for padding treatment. SOLUTION: While padding treatment is being performed, i.e. the fibrous material is immersed in a padding tank 1 that stores the treatment fluid and nip rolls 4 are evenly applying the treatment fluid, the optical intensity of the treatment fluid S in the padding tank 1 is measured by an optical sensor 20 and a concentration measurement unit 21, and the quantity of treatment fluid S is measured by a fluid-surface sensor 22 and a quantity measurement unit 23. A control unit 30 calculates, on the basis of the measured optical intensity and fluid quantity, the amount of concentrated treatment fluid that needs to be added to bring the concentration and quantity of the treatment fluid in the padding tank to prescribed levels. The control unit then adds concentrated treatment fluid T from a refill tank 17 to a preparation tank 15 and prepares refill processing fluid ST, which is then supplied to the padding tank 1.
