BODY MOVEMENT DETECTING APPARATUS AND BODY MOVEMENT DETECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body movement detecting apparatus and a body movement detecting method which calculate consumed energy by determining the type of body movement on the basis of a standard specific to a user. SOLUTION: The body movement detecting apparatus includes a body movement information acquiring means which detects the body movement of a user and acquires body movement information relating to the body movement, a memory means which memorizes body movement information corresponding to the types of user's activity as registered body movement information, a body movement determining means which compares the body movement information acquired by the body movement information acquiring means with registered body movement information and determines the type of the activity of the user, and a calculating means which calculates consumed energy due to the body movement by referring to the corresponding type of the activity determined by the body movement determining means.
