CAMERA BODY, IMAGING UNIT MOUNTED/REMOVED ON/FROM THE CAMERA BODY, AND IMAGING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera body that can easily combine various imaging units by making the correspondence between the camera body and the imaging unit less strict, and can easily perform mounting/removing operation while avoiding erroneous operation by the imaging unit to the camera body. SOLUTION: The camera body 1 has a recess 1A on/from which the imaging unit 2 including an optical system and an imaging device installed in a casing 2A of rectangular parallelepiped shape is mounted/removed. The recess 1A is formed of three wall sections of a back-wall section 1B that the back of the casing 2A opposes, a sidewall section 1C that the left side of the casing 2A opposes, and an upper-wall section 1D that an upper surface of the casing 2A opposes, when the imaging unit 2 is attached to the camera body 1 and is seen from the front. A lock release operation member 26d, which releases lock of a lock mechanism for locking the imaging unit 2, is provided at an intersection portion between the sidewall section 1C and the upper-wall section 1D.
