PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein it is necessary to perform impact detection by capturing still images at a high frame rate, in order to detect a moment of impact of golf to capture still images, however, resolution for capturing the still images becomes low, in that case. SOLUTION: An imaging device includes an imaging element 1001, a storage means 1003, an object extraction means 1004, a motion vector calculation means 1005, a positional relationship calculation means 1006, a timing prediction means 1007, a photography control means 1002, and a resolution control means 1008. The resolution control means 1008 captures moving images with low resolution and high frame rate, when performing impact detection and switches to high resolution, when capturing still images of impact, thereby while making resolution high when capturing still images, frame rate can be enhanced, when performing impact detection.
