Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control system allowing suppression of reduction of a saturation traffic flow rate by starting wave delay. SOLUTION: An on-road device 1 receives signal information related to present and future signal lamp colors and duration thereof from a traffic signal 4, and transmits the signal information to an onboard device 1. The onboard device 1 loaded in a vehicle 3 receives the signal information. The onboard device 1 decides whether or not the vehicle 3 stops and whether or not the present signal lamp color is red based on the signal information. The onboard device 2 controls the vehicle 3 so that the vehicle 3 starts to advance simultaneously with a changeover of the signal lamp color from red to blue when deciding that the vehicle 3 stops and that the present signal lamp color is red.
