SOLUTION: The proposed automatic transaction device 1 includes a customer sensor 2 for detecting a customer, capable of setting a detection range to either of a short-distance detection area or a long-distance detection area, and a detection area control part for controlling the detection range of the customer sensor 2 to be switched to the short-distance detection area, when a state with the customer detected in the long-distance detection area continues for a fixed time or more, and for controlling the detection range of the customer sensor 2 to be switched to the long-distance detection area, when a state with the customer detected in the short-distance detection area continues for the fixed time or more.
