Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a dirt cleanability improving function-imparted elastic fiber, capable of obtaining excellent cleaning effect even when washed without using a detergent, and having excellent elasticity; to provide a dirt cleanability improving function-imparted elastic fiber produced by the method for producing the dirt cleanability improving function-imparted elastic fiber; and to provide textiles containing the dirt cleanability improving function-imparted elastic fiber. SOLUTION: The method for producing the dirt cleanability improving function-imparted elastic fiber includes bringing a mixed fiber of cotton and polyurethane fiber into contact with a treating liquid containing monochloroacetic acid or an alkali metal salt of monochloroacetic acid and hydroxide of an alkali metal.
