Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side material which is excellent in corrosion resistance and also excellent in productivity, facilitates the control of the surface state and flatness of the side material, and does not easily generate adhesion defects, in the side material used as a sacrificial material or an intermediate material, and a clad material for a heat exchanger using the side material. SOLUTION: The side material is used as the sacrificial material or the intermediate material in the clad material for the heat exchanger. The side material has a casting structure which contains Ti for 0.10-0.35 mass% and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, and when a distance in a plate thickness direction is defined as (a) and a distance in a rolling direction when being cladded is defined as (b) in a region where the Ti concentration in the casting structure is ≥0.10 mass%, satisfies a/b≥0.3.
