Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding apparatus easily and completely removing dirtiness such as scale adhering to an electrolytic dressing electrode for easy maintenance. SOLUTION: The grinding apparatus 1 energizes between a metal-bond grinding stone 3 and the electrolytic-dressing electrode 5 while supplying grinding fluid in between the metal bond grinding stone 3 and the electrolytic dressing electrode 5 during grinding work. During non-grinding work, polarity is reversed, and a negative voltage is applied to the metal-bond grinding stone 3 so that electrolytic-dressing electrode 5 becomes an anode, thereby the electrolytic-dressing electrode 5 is cleaned. Prior to deterioration in the electrolytic-dressing electrode 5, scale and the like adhering to an electrode surface 5a are completely removed to ensure good electrolytic dressing of the metal-bond grinding stone 3 and maintain grinding performance by the metal bond grinding stone 3 for high grinding quality without causing clogging or the like, thus shortening a machining cycle.
