Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display device of a CF-on-TFT structure in which a color filter is formed on the side of an array substrate in which a switching element is formed, and which enables simplification of a manufacturing process typified by a photolithography process and has high reliability. SOLUTION: The substrate for the liquid crystal display is constructed to include: a first terminal electrode 52a electrically connected to a gate bus line 6 led out from a plurality of pixel regions P arranged on a glass substrate 3 in a matrix form; a second terminal electrode 52b formed of a forming material of a pixel electrode and directly on the glass substrate 3; and an electrode coupling region 52c for electrically connecting the first and second terminal electrodes 52a, 52b, and an external connection terminal which electrically connects an external circuit and the gate bus line 6.
