REGISTRATION MARK DETECTOR AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detecting accuracy of a registration mark not only when a recording medium on which the registration mark is put is plain paper or high-quality paper but also when it is newspaper, recycled paper or colored paper. SOLUTION: The registration mark detector includes at least a first mark detection means that detects the registration mark formed on the recording medium by irradiating the registration mark formed on the recording medium with a laser beam of first wavelength and detecting the reflected laser beam from the registration mark, and a second mark detection means that detects the registration mark formed on the recording medium by irradiating the registration mark formed on the recording medium with a laser beam of second wavelength different from that of the first mark detection means and detecting the reflected laser beam from the registration mark.
