Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indirect injection diesel engine capable of controlling firing by controlling the mixture of a liquid fuel spray injected into a main combustion chamber and air, capable of improving combustion and reducing emission at optional timing during fuel injection, and improving combustion efficiency and heat efficiency. SOLUTION: The indirect injection diesel engine includes: a main combustion chamber for firing injected liquid fuel; a smaller-capacity auxiliary combustion chamber provided in the vicinity of the main combustion chamber and in communication with the main combustion chamber through a small hole; a main injector for injecting liquid fuel into the main combustion chamber; an auxiliary injector for injecting liquid fuel into the auxiliary combustion chamber interlocking with the fuel injection in the main combustion chamber; a laser ignition device for irradiating a fuel spray formed in the auxiliary combustion chamber by a laser beam to turn the fuel spray into plasma and ignite it; and a timing control device for controlling the laser beam irradiation timing of the laser ignition device so that the fuel spray in the auxiliary combustion chamber ignited by the laser ignition device is burned, and the combustion gas generated thereby is injected into the main combustion chamber through the small hole at predetermined timing.
