Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring suppressing friction with a piston on which the piston ring is adopted under a condition where lubricating oil is used while securing sealing performances with a groove wall of the piston on which the piston ring is adopted, and to provide an internal combustion engine including the piston ring, securing required sealing performances, and reducing friction between the piston ring and a cylinder bore by improving following properties of the piston ring to a cylinder inner surface. SOLUTION: The piston ring 10 is used under the condition where lubricating oil L is used, and a notch part 82 for accelerating formation of oil film between the piston ring 10 and a lower groove face 50A of the piston 30 on which the piston ring 10 is adopted is formed at an angular corner section of the inner circumference surface 10B and a lower surface 10A which are in low pressure side.
