IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, MUSICAL SCORE EDITING METHOD IMPLEMENTED ON THE SAME, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical score editing method for easily adding auxiliary symbols without changing the form of a musical score document. SOLUTION: Image data captured by reading the musical score document by means of a reader are input. A plurality of tables for associating symbols on the musical score with auxiliary symbols to be newly added are displayed on a display. Any symbol on the musical score is extracted from the input image data. A blank area between staves on the musical score is detected from the input image data. Any one of the plurality of tables displayed on the display is selected by a user using a man-machine interface of an image processing apparatus. The selected table is referenced to specify an auxiliary symbol corresponding to the extracted symbol. Data representing the specified auxiliary symbol are added to the blank area, thereby producing image data representing an edited musical score. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
