PRINT INSTRUCTION APPARATUS AND PRINTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve smooth printing by collectively managing multiple pieces of image data that are related to one another, and by performing a print instruction in conformity with a predetermined communication standard. SOLUTION: When making direct printing using the predetermined communication standard, a digital camera 40 sets a file ID that identifies each piece of image data stored in a set file; creates a list that stores the ID file and an offset of the image data within the set file in association with each other; acquires the file ID from the list when receiving selection of a piece of image data, to transmit to a printer 20 a command requesting start of printing including the file ID; and acquires, when receiving a command requesting the image data corresponding to the file ID, the offset corresponding to the file ID from the list to access the image data for transmitting the data to the printer 20. Thus, exchange of commands in accordance with the communication standard is performed using a file ID as a key to thereby achieve smooth printing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
