ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus that reduces power consumption with a simple configuration and displays accurate time, and to provide a method of controlling the electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: The electronic apparatus includes: a GPS device 10 for receiving first and second satellite signals; a control unit 20; and a RAM 31 for storing week number identification information. The control unit 20 acquires time information and first week number information by controlling the GPS device 10 in a first reception mode for receiving a first satellite signal when the week number identification information is stored in the RAM 31, calculates the number of cycles of the first week number information by the week number identification information stored in the RAM 31, and then calculates the current date and time. When no week number identification information has been stored in the RAM 31, the GPS device 10 is controlled in a second reception mode for receiving a second satellite signal for acquiring time information and second week number information and calculates the current date and time, based on the time information and the second week number information.
