PORTABLE TELEPHONE SET AND INCREMENTAL RETRIEVAL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set capable of retrieving all of character data stored in the portable telephone set only by inputting any one of numerical keys from a standby screen, while all of character data managed with a plurality of application included in the portable telephone set are made applicable to retrieval. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set 10 has a plurality of application and makes all character data to be managed with each of the application applicable to retrieval. The portable telephone set includes an input key determining portion 13, a retrieval processing portion 14, and a display part 17. When key input occurs at a standby mode, the input key determining portion determines the type of the operated key. Whenever anyone of numerical keys is operated, the retrieval processing portion performs incremental retrieval of a character string corresponding to the operated numerical key, while all of the character data managed with each of the application are made as a subject to be searched.
