Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery configured with fuel battery cells each equipped with a separator having a three layer structure, in which since a peripheral fringe region where no cooling medium flow path exists can be cooled effectively, an electrode area utilization factor is improved effectively, thereby, making a power generating area utilization factor as high as possible. SOLUTION: This fuel battery l has fuel battery cells 10 each composed of: a membrane electrode assembly 3; gas permeating layers on its both sides; a separator 7 having a three layer structure formed by laminating a first plate 71, an intermediate layer 73 and a second plate 72; and a gasket 8 equipped with a manifold M. The intermediate layer 73 has a central region and a peripheral fringe region on its peripheral fringe, a cooling passage 73c for a cooling medium to flow is formed in the central region, an introduction path and an exhaust path for fuel gas, oxidizer gas, and the cooling medium are formed in the peripheral fringe region, and a cooling mechanism 9A is provided in the introduction path and/or the exhaust path.
