SOLUTION: The method measures easily and speedily an amount of isoflavone from near-infrared spectral data of stems or roots of Pueraria lobata, for which the amount of isoflavone is unknown, on the basis of a relation between near-infrared spectral data obtained by irradiating stems or roots of Pueraria lobata, for which the amount of isoflavone is known, with near-infrared rays having wavelengths of 1000 to 2500 nm and amounts of isoflavone in the stems or roots.
