SOLUTION: This recovery device 1 for recovering a test material includes: an upper part gel holding tube 4 having a truncated cone part 41 whose cross-sectional area is reduced gradually toward the downside; separation gel G2 held in the upper part gel holding tube 4, at least a part of which is positioned in the truncated cone part 41; a power source 7 for applying a voltage so as to electrophorese the test material downward in the separation gel G2; and a recovery chamber 81 for recovering the test material leaking out from the lower end of the separation gel G2 under the separation gel G2.
