Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic control device for an automatic transmission, capable of preventing foreign matter from flowing into a lubricating oil passage from a starter, and of reducing passage resistance during non-lockup time at low oil temperatures. SOLUTION: The hydraulic control device 1 for the automatic transmission includes a lockup relay valve 7 for supplying a secondary pressure PSECAto the starter 4 and supplying the discharge pressure PSECBof the secondary pressure to the lubricating oil passage 9 of an automatic transmission mechanism through an oil cooler 8 during a lockup state, and discharging the secondary pressure PSECAto an oil pan through the starter 4 and the oil cooler 8 and supplying the discharge pressure PSECBof the secondary pressure to the lubricating oil passage 9 of the automatic transmission mechanism during a state where it is released from lockup. In this way, it is possible to prevent an oil passage configuration where the starter 4 and the lubricating oil passage 9 of the automatic transmission mechanism are arranged in series to cause oil to flow, both during the lockup state and during the state released from lockup.
