Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of the objective α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, in the production of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid by the liquid-phase oxidization of an alcohol, an olefin or an α,β-unsaturated aldehyde with molecular oxygen, and to stabilize catalyst life (inhibiting of activity fall). SOLUTION: In the production of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid by the liquid-phase oxidization of an alcohol, an olefin or an α,β-unsaturated aldehyde with molecular oxygen, a catalyst containing palladium and tellurium is used, a molybdenum feeding liquid in which a molybdenum compound is included in the condition of having been dissolved and/or distributed, and the mass proportion of a molybdenum element is at least one mass ppm and at most 40 mass ppm, is fed into a reaction system which performs the liquid-phase oxidation, and the liquid phase oxidation is performed on a condition in which the mass proportion of the molybdenum element which exists in the reaction system does not exceed 270 mass ppm based on the mass of a liquid which exists in the reaction system.
