Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety cover device in a grinding machine in which a safety cover is opened and closed by utilizing opening and closing of a front cover originally disposed in the grinding machine. SOLUTION: A separate cover 34 disposed between a spindle base 13 or a tailstock 14 and a wheel spindle stock 15 covers the front side of a grinding wheel 16 during attachment and detachment of a workpiece, and is retracted behind the spindle base or the tailstock during machining of the workpiece. The separate cover is openably and closably disposed along open and close directions of the front cover 22 which is closed during machining of the workpiece and is opened during attachment and detachment of the workpiece.
