CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure a connector for optical waveguides in such a way that an optimal adaptation of the optical waveguides is realized by a casing part which is axially shifted additionally within the connector for the optical waveguides when an insertion depth within a mating connector equipped with a photoelectric converter or a plug adapter is variously different. SOLUTION: The connector includes a connector casing, and at least one ferrule casing provided with the optical waveguide embedded in a ferrule is disposed in a shift casing inside the connector casing. The ferrule is axially shifted by a spring arranged in the ferrule casing, the shift casing includes at least one ferrule casing held inside the shift casing and it is axially shifted inside the connector casing surrounding the circumference together by an additional shift distance by an axially acting spring.
