Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film of which the breakage resistance in a film transfer process etc., the dimensional stability when used as a polarizing plate, and the so-called "picture frame unevenness prevention" are improved significantly, and to provide a polarizing plate which uses using the same, and to provide a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The optical film includes a modified cellulose ester, having a repeating unit with a predetermined structure; another cellulose ester which is different from the modified cellulose ester and which has an average acyl group substitution of 2-2.5; and, as an additive, another kind of compound with a carboxyl group of 0.5-10 mass%.
