Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining ignition delay time in measurement of the minimum ignition energy of dust reducing the number of experiment times by changing ignition delay time and reducing test time. SOLUTION: In the method of determining ignition delay time in a method of measuring the minimum ignition energy by blowing up powder from a lower end of a Hartmann type cylinder 10 and by igniting a mixture where the powder and gas are mixed, the powder is blown up in the Hartmann type cylinder 10, and then movement of the powder in the Hartmann type cylinder 10 is observed without igniting dust cloud m, thus determining the ignition delay time, based on the movement of observed powder, and hence reducing the number of test repetition times as compared with a case for obtaining the minimum ignition energy by successively changing ignition time and reducing the test period.
