Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus capable of leveling temperatures of an inverter and an AC motor, in a motor drive system having the AC motor capable of switching the control mode. SOLUTION: The controller 30 calculates the modulation rate which is the ratio of a fundamental wave component of a motor applied voltage to an output voltage VH (DC link voltage of an inverter 14, that is, the system voltage) of a step-up/down converter 12, and determines the need for switching between a rectangular wave voltage control mode and a PWM control mode, based on the calculated modulation rate. According to the relative relation between the temperature of the inverter 14 and the temperature of the AC motor M1 detected by temperature sensors 20, 22, the controller 30 selects a control mode, in which either the rectangular wave voltage control mode or the PWM control mode is to be preferentially applied, and a voltage command value which is the target value of a system voltage VH is corrected so that the modulation rate lies within the range of the modulation rate of the control mode to be applied in priority.
