Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device, a protocol, a technology related to these, and especially a method for authenticating an endpoint. SOLUTION: The method has (A) a step of starting a communication to the endpoint requesting a DTMF sequence which is produced, (B) a step of receiving and storing the produced DTMF sequence, (C) a step of receiving a second communication from the endpoint in which the second communication includes the DTMF sequence which is re-transmitted, and (D) a step of performing authentication of the endpoint based on match after comparing the produced DTMF sequence with the DTMF sequence which is re-transmitted.
