INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND ERROR LOG DATA SENDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such as failure of data transmission via a network in the occurrence of a fault causing system down in an information processing device, an increase in data capacity after encryption wherein all of the data are encrypted, and possibility of leakage of an encryption key because the same encryption key is used for different devices or because management of the encryption key by the user is required. SOLUTION: In a hardware error log data sending method for the information processing device, a hardware monitoring microcomputer gathers hardware error information of the information processing device and stores it in a log memory. Hardware management software working under the control of the OS encrypts the hardware error log data stored in the log memory and sends them to the outside. When the OS cannot be operated, the hardware monitoring microcomputer encrypts the hardware error log data stored in the log memory and sends them to the outside. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
