CORD-PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROCESSED CORD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord-processing apparatus in which a means for detecting knotted portions is disposed in a convey route of the cord-processing apparatus to improve the productivity of a dip cord, and to provide a cord-processing method. SOLUTION: This cord-processing apparatus in which cords unwound from an unwinding means in a straight line-like state are wound on a winding means and which has a knotting means for knotting the unwinding starting front ends of the cords from the unwinding means to the rear ends of the cords just before finishing the winding. In this apparatus, a detection means for detecting the knotted portions of the cords is disposed in front of the winding means and stopping the winding operation of the winding means after the detection of the knotted portions. The detection means is disposed to nip the cords with the first and second rolls whose at least one can be moved, and comprises a detection portion for detecting the knotted portions, when at least one of the first and second rolls is moved due to the passage of the knotted portions.
