Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper carrying device with a charged area control means for charging only areas of a carrying belt corresponding to the areas of the front end and the rear end of paper and forming a non-charged area therebetween, resulting in improved paper carrying and stacking performance. SOLUTION: The paper carrying device includes the carrying belt 21 for carrying paper, a charging roller 26 for charging the carrying belt 21, and a main control part 73 for controlling the charged area of the carrying belt 21 charged by the charging roller 26. Normal charging-pitch application is carried out for charging the belt charged area corresponding to the front end of the paper 12. At a timing for charging the non-charged area, high frequency application is carried out for discharging and then normal charging-pitch application is carried out again for charging the belt surface equivalent to the rear end of the paper 12.
