Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of immediately obtaining the supply of hot water without waste water discharge. SOLUTION: The storage water heater includes: an outer can 1 forming a hot water storage chamber 3 between the outer can 1 and an inner can 2 provided inside; a combustion chamber 5 formed in the inner can 2 and a combustion burner 4 facing the combustion chamber; and a plurality of smoke tubes 6 for making the combustion chamber 5 communicated with an exhaust chamber 7 at the upper side of the outer can 1 through the hot water storage chamber 3. By heat exchange by the combustion of the combustion burner 4 and the discharge of exhaust gas through the smoke tubes 6, water in the hot water storage chamber 3 is heated to be converted to hot water, and supplied from a hot water supply pipe 18 provided at an upper end of the outer can 1. The storage water heater further includes a communication pipe 14 making the upper end of the inner can 2 communicate with the upper part of the outer can 1 at the outer periphery of the outer can and having a circulating pump 17. The circulating pump 17 is operated for only a predetermined time at the start of the combustion of the combustion burner 4 so as to suck high-temperature water at the upper end of the inner can 2 and to discharge the high-temperature water to the upper part of the outer can 1. Thus, the supply of the hot water is started instantaneously, and the damping of waste water is prevented so as to always achieve economic and energy-saving hot water supply.
