Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external combustion engine reducible in heat transfer loss. SOLUTION: The external combustion engine includes a tubular vessel 11 in which a working medium 12 is filled in a liquid state with fluidity, a heating part 11a formed at one end side of the vessel 11 and heating and vaporizing part of the working medium 12 in the liquid state, a cooling part 11b formed at the other end side of the heating part 11a in the vessel 11 and cooling and liquefying the vapor of the working medium 12 vaporized by the heating part 11a, and an output part 15 communicating with the other end of the vessel 11, converting the displacement of the working medium 12 in the liquid state caused by a volumetric change of vapor to mechanical energy, and outputting it.
