Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyvinyl acetal decreased in the content of an aldehyde, especially, 2-ethyl-2-hexenal, and to provide a heat-developable photosensitive material using the same. SOLUTION: Polyvinyl acetal of ≤80 ppm 2-ethyl-2-hexenal content is provided. The polyvinyl acetal can be obtained by, for example, performing acetalization reaction of an aldehyde with polyvinyl alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst, which aldehyde has a ≤2,000 ppm 3-hydroxy-2-ethylhexanal content. The aldehyde having ≤2,000 ppm 3-hydroxy-2-ethylhexanal content can be provided by removing high boiling ingredients by distillation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
