IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which restrains phenomena such as edge soiling, toner scattering, without a complex circuit structure and prevents lowering of the detection accuracy of toner residual quantity by such measures. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus detects the toner residual quantity by application of developing bias and applies a high-voltage bias to a guide plate before transfer near a developing drum as toner splashing measures. Alternatively, the guide plate before transfer of the image forming apparatus is grounded via a capacitor. The capacitor constant at this time is set so that the resistant component of the capacitor is much smaller than that of a paper sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
