DEVELOPING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce scattering of toner from the ends of a developing device in a developing device including: a developer carrier 2e that carries developer containing magnetic particles and develops a latent image formed on an image carrier 10; a magnetic member 2f that is disposed in the developer carrier and magnetically restrains the developer on the surface of the developer carrier and; magnetic seals 2g (2h) that are disposed at the ends of the magnetic member and opposite the developer carrier on the opposite side of the side where the developer carrier faces the image carrier. SOLUTION: The magnetic members 2f includes a plurality of magnetic poles including repelling poles N3 and N2, which are at least one pair of magnetic poles having the same polarity and disposed adjacent to each other. The magnetic seal 2g (2h) includes magnetic poles S22 and S23 different in polarity from the repelling poles in the position opposite the magnetic poles of the repelling poles, and one magnetic pole N22 in the position opposite an area between the magnetic poles of the repelling poles.
