Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordierite sintered compact having high specific rigidity. SOLUTION: The cordierite sintered compact contains cordierite as a main crystal and alumina as a sub-crystal, and contains 0.2 to 0.8 mass% of Ca in terms of CaO in the whole amount. In the measurement by an X-ray diffraction device using Cu-Kα line, the ratio (IAl/Imas) of the peak intensity IAlat a main peak (2θ=35.0 to 35.5°) of the alumina to the peak intensity Imasat a main peak (2θ=28.0 to 29.0°) of the cordierite ranges from 0.02 to 0.15.
