SIDE BODY STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress entry of a center pillar to the inside of a cabin in a side collision of a vehicle with a simpler configuration. SOLUTION: In a side body structure for a vehicle, a pillar reinforcement 13 of the center pillar 5 integrally includes an upper part 23 positioned on the upper side of a boundary line Q and a lower part 24 positioned on the lower side of the boundary line Q with the boundary line Q being positioned below the middle level of the pillar reinforcement 13. The upper part 23 and the lower part 24 respectively include sidewall portions 25, 29 extending along a side face of a vehicle and front and rear pairs of vertical wall portions 26, 30 extending inwardly in the vehicle width direction from front and rear end portions of the sidewall portions. The pair of vertical wall portions 30 of the lower part 24 is slant so that the distance between the vertical wall portions 30 becomes wider toward inside in the vehicle width direction, and a slant angle of the pair of vertical wall portions 30 of the lower part 24 is set to be greater than that of the vertical portions 26 of the upper part 23.
